During my recent stay at El Almendro, I experienced a mix of luxury and value that left me contemplating the financial merits of this hotel. The property's affordability is evident in its well-appointed rooms, featuring comfortable beds, a good TV, and a refreshing shower. I appreciated the thoughtful touches like the charming little statues in the room. However, the value proposition took a hit upon my arrival as I was greeted by a cacophony of barking dogs and encountered some cleanliness issues.While the hotel offers free Wi-Fi and hot water, its location next to a highway may not appeal to all guests. The attentive owner, Andres, who accommodated our late check-in, deserves special mention for his hospitality. Considering the mixed experiences with cleanliness, service inconsistencies, and limited breakfast hours, El Almendro seems more fitting as a budget-friendly pit stop than a destination for an extended stay. For a quick rest en route to Santiago, it serves its purpose adequately, but discerning guests may seek alternative accommodations for a more pleasant and consistent experience.
